Create Your Path to Success in
The Career Explorations in Arts and Sciences Course (01:090:210)

This 1.5 credit, graded elective course will help you develop the skills and knowledge to pursue a purpose-filled life and career.

What will I learn?

  • Discover Yourself: Identify your interests and values; articulate career relevant skills you are building at SAS.
  • Explore Majors and Careers: Meet and see stories about alumni; learn how the workplace is changing and how you can adapt; research major and career options that fit your unique strengths (not necessarily your major!)
  • Build Skills and Pursue Goals: Create networking and job search tools (Resume, LinkedIN, Interviews) to help you demonstrate your unique strengths and pursue opportunities.

This is a course that focuses on YOU! You will leave the class with things you can use to achieve success - an inventory of your strengths, a professional network, a resume, cover letter and LinkedIn profile you can use to find internships/jobs, and a lot of knowledge about how to manage your emotions as you work to answer the question, "What do I want to do when I grow up."

Find out what other students got out of the course here: New initiative guides students from every major toward finding their purpose.
